The prosecution at the Special Tribunal for Lebanon issued its political verdict in the assassination of late PM Rafiq Hariri, deeming crime political on the backdrop of the threat posed by Hariri on the Syrian interests in Lebanon, therefore, the crime targeted the Lebanese opposition, the Lebanese people and the International Community.
