President Michel Aoun headed Sunday to the United States, accompanied by First Lady Nadia Aoun, heading an official, administrative and media delegation, to New York to chair the Lebanese delegation to the inauguration of the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The official delegation includes caretaker Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil, who will join the delegation later, Lebanon’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Amal Mudallali and Lebanon’s Ambassador to Washington Gaby Issa.
President Aoun is scheduled to deliver a speech before the General Assembly on Wednesday and meet with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.
He will also hold talks with several presidents of Arab and Foreign states, as well as heads of international organizations.
Before heading back to Beirut, Aoun will meet with members of the Lebanese community in a special ceremony.
