Oman says it is working to ensure safe passage through Strait of Hormuz

Oman’s foreign minister said on Monday that the country is making intensive efforts to ensure safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz, warning that the war is already causing significant economic damage that could worsen if it continues.

The minister said the conflict, regardless of positions toward Iran, was not started by Tehran.

Oman has previously mediated nuclear negotiations between the United States and Iran before Washington and Israel launched airstrikes on Tehran on February 28.
