Sleiman heads to Paris on Thursday

The Lebanese and French Presidencies announced Monday that French President Francois Hollande will be meeting with his Lebanese counterpart President Michel Sleiman on Thursday to discuss the situation in Lebanon and the Middle East.

Earlier on Monday and prior to the cabinet session, President Michel Sleiman met with a delegation of Akkar’s MPs to discuss the security situation in the region and the necessity to maintain stability and prevent the spread of the regional incidents’ repercussions to Lebanon.

Sleiman also met with U.S. ambassador to Lebanon Maura Connelly on Monday; they discussed the region’s latest developments and the U.S.’s support to the Lebanese army.

Separately, Sleiman was briefed on the “safe monetary situation in Lebanon” by the governor of the Central Bank of Lebanon, Riyadh Salameh. They also discussed ways to deal with the external campaigns targeting some Lebanese banks.
