Caretaker Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil and his accompanying delegation started the second day of their visit to Baghdad with a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdel Mahdi, where they discussed the bilateral relations and the common matters.

 

Agreement was reached over facilitating entry to both countries in order to promote tourism and investment exchange, as well as establishing an oriental economic market that includes Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan and Syria and holding a meeting for the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Economy and Energy in Iraq, Lebanon and Jordan to discuss the construction of pipeline network to transport gas and oil and railway project to transport goods and sand.

 

During the meeting, the conferees also agreed to hold a joint ministerial committee, while Bassil vowed that after the formation of the Lebanese cabinet, Lebanon will deal with the Iraqi with an equal manner with the rest of delegations of the GCC countries.
