Owner of factory accused of Berdawni River’s pollution shortly arrested

The owner of the Mimosa factory that was accused of the Berdawni River’s pollution was arrested, prompting a number of his employees to protest outside the Zahle’s Justice Palace.

The owner is Wissam al-Tannouri who is also the mayor of the Zahle village of Qaa al-Rim.

Al-Tannouri was released later, pending further investigations.
