Kataeb party chief MP Samy Gemayel stressed that the call raised by General Labor Confederation is only the beginning, stressing that he will stand by the GLC in all the steps taken in order to “right the wrongs.”
Following his meeting with GLC head Beshara Asmar, Gemayel reiterated the call “to put an end to the farce of quotas led by the politicians who form the cabinet,” stressing that the movement of the citizens and the GLC should not be politicized.
“The Kataeb party will stand by them and all those who fight for rescuing Lebanon,” he added.
Gemayel also called for forming a government of experts capable of saving the country and taking the necessary initiatives.
For his part, Asmar said that tomorrow’s movement is not meant against any party, urging the officials to cooperate and assume their national responsibility.
In the same context, Asmar stressed the general strike will be a peaceful movement and a civilized expression, reiterating that they will not take to the streets.
