Amnesty International Turkey marks 100th day of Khashoggi's killing

Amnesty International Turkey marked 100th day of Saudi dissident Jamal Khashoggi's death on Thursday as they asked for an international investigation for slain journalist.

Speaking at the event outside Saudi consulate in Istanbul, senior adviser Andrew Gardner said hundred days have passed without any concrete information on whether there will be an international investigation for killing of Khashoggi under the auspices of United Nations.

Khashoggi, a U.S.-based Washington Post journalist from Saudi Arabia who had become a critic of the kingdom's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, was last seen entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on Oct. 2.

After offering numerous contradictory explanations regarding the fate of Khashoggi, Riyadh said he had been killed and his body dismembered when negotiations to persuade him to return to Saudi Arabia failed. The whereabouts of Khashoggi's remains are still unknown.

Amnesty international activists hung a symbolic street sign with Khashoggi's name before concluding the event.
