Abi Khalil signs contract with ‘Rosneft’ to develop oil storage facilities in Tripoli

Caretaker Energy and Water Minister Cesar Abi Khalil signed Friday a contract with Russian petroleum refining company “Rosneft”, to develop oil storage facilities in Tripoli, in the presence of Russian Ambassador to Lebanon Alexander Zaspikin.

During a press conference, Abi Khalil declared that “the contract allows the redevelopment of oil storage facilities in Tripoli and ensures additional revenue, which will be done in phases.”

He also stressed that serious work will be conducted in the oil sector, starting with oil exploration and ends with storage and market management of oil facilities.

“We are following up with Syria, Iraq and Egypt on means to re-open the oil and gas pipelines in our region,” he added.
