Twenty inmates were released from al-Qobba jail and other prisoners in North Lebanon, who have completed their sentences after their bails and financial fines were paid by UAE Ambassador to Lebanon Hamad al-Shamsi.
“The initiative came initially from Governor of North Lebanon Nohra and we have paid the fines and bails of 20 prisoners who have ended their sentences and are not able to pay,” the ambassador said, adding that those released are from different regions and religions.
The ambassador also delivered around 1000 blankets and several food boxes to the prison.
