Connelly stresses importance of protecting Syrian refugees

U.S. ambassador to Lebanon Maura Connelly praised the generosity of the Lebanese people and the cabinet's cooperation with international bodies and organizations to offer humanitarian assistance for the Syrian refugees who fled violence in Syria.

She reiterated the US commitment to provide the Syrian refugees and the Lebanese communities which are hosting them with necessary assistance.

During her meeting with Social Affairs Minister Wael Abou Faour, Connelly stressed the importance to protect all refugees, including rebels and dissidents.
Ambassador Connelly renewed the commitment of the US to a stable, independent and sovereign Lebanon.
