Aoun: Discontinuity of alliances is not a precondition

Change and Reform bloc leader MP Michel Aoun refused claims which "frame the dispute over the EDL" as a dividing factor within the Shiite community. Aoun said that the Free Patriotic Movement is not asking for the "discontinuity of any party with Berri" for the sake of the aforementioned issue.

Asked on the stance of House Speaker Nabih Berri, Aoun said he refuses to argue with anyone.

“Berri is free with his choices”, he told “L’Orient Le Jour Daily on Thursday.

He went on to deny rumors stipulating that the memorandum with Hezbollah is over, stressing that he is not responsible for the prolongation of the national dialogue.
