For the third consecutive year and over a period of 3 days, March 12, 13 and 14, Lebanon will take part in the Brussels 3 conference to discuss the issue of the Syrian displacement.
However, this issue will be discussed in Brussels without the Minister of State for the Refugees Affairs being present and the Lebanese participation will be limited to Prime Minister Saad Hariri, Social Affairs Minister Richard Kouyoumjian and Education Minister Akram Chouhayeb. It is worth noting that Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil has been invited to attend but he apologized because of his schedule.
In a statement to LBCI, Minister al-Gharib said that he was surprised to learn that he was not invited, asking about the reasons for not inviting a minister of refugees to attend a conference on refugees.
The minister added that lack of invitation from the European Union is a message against the policy he follows.
