Russian ambassador Zasypkin: Russia ready to help in building power plants
Russian Ambassador to Lebanon Alexander Zasypkin said on Thursday that his country is ready to cooperate with Lebanon in order to solve the electricity crisis, and that by building modern electricity plants.
Zasypkin’s comments were made during a seminar at the Lebanese American University in Beirut whereby he noted that Lebanon and Russia shared “the same vision for what is happening in the region.”
On another note, the Russian enviy reiterated Russia’s commitment to cooperate with Lebanon to solve the Syrian refugees crisis.
As for the military agreement signed last year between Moscow and Beirut, Zasypkin said that Lebanon knows best what is in its interest, adding that Moscow’s stance is known in this regard.
“Russia is ready to cooperate with Lebanon after agreeing on the weapons that Lebanon wants and that are fit the weapons system adopted by the Lebanese army," he added.
Zasypkin also noted that what Russia is carrying out in Syria is not limited to Syria only, but the entire Middle East region.
“Russia sent its forces to Syria to eradicate Israel and not to fight Israel,” he concluded by saying.
