Aoun meets UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon, UN Deputy Secretary-General

President Michel Aoun met on Monday with UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon Jan Kubis at the Baabda Presidential Palace.

Aoun briefed Kumis about the deliberations and discussions he had in New York that that accompanied the issuance of the report on the implementation of resolution No. 1701.

The president also met with Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations Amina Mohammad.

During the meeting, Aoun noted that Lebanon is looking forward to fully cooperate with the UN to address the current challenges, mainly the return of Syrian refugees from Lebanon to Syria, as well as supporting the economic plan and reforms that the country will adopt.

For her part, Mohammad stressed the UN support for all steps that Lebanon takes in order to enhance its stability and to achieve the reforms.

She also asserted that the UN is looking forward to work with Lebanon in order to secure the return of the refugees.
