The residents blocked the road to Beit Mery amid heavy security presence, vowing escalation if their demands were not met.

This as scuffles erupted later between the security forces and the residents when they tried to break through a security cordon around Energy Ministry workers who were installing the lines.

In turn, MP Elias Hankash told LBCI that the works must be stopped, vowing escalation.
