Minister Boustani: We offered to buy apartments of those who consider themselves affected by Mansourieh power lines
Minister of Energy Nada Boustani asserted on Friday that International and scientific studies proved that there is no harm from the power lines in the town of Mansourieh.
 
Boustani’s comments were made during a joint press conference with Director-General of state-run Electricite du Liban Kamal al-Hayek whereby she noted that the Cabinet’s decision is to complete all power lines in the regions of Tyre, Hermel, Faytroun and Mansourieh.
 
“Works are being done in parallel in all regions,” she added.
 
Boustani addressed Mansourieh’s residents by saying that she understands their concerns, adding that the ministry offered to buy the apartments of those who consider themselves affected by the power lines.
 
“The decision is yours," she concluded by saying.
 
For his part, Hayek said that the high-voltage power lines are not “an invention made by the Electricte du Liban,” adding that they do not target any particular region or sect but are spread across all Lebanese regions.
