Jumblatt: Syrian regime’s brutality supersedes that of Holako
National Struggle Front leader MP Walid Jumblatt said late on Saturday that the “clandestine partnership between the army, the people and the resistance” cannot go on at the expense of the state, the army, the security and the economy.

During an Iftar banquet for the residents of Chouf and Iqlim al-Kharroub, Jumblatt pointed out that the sole achievement of the current government has been its commitment to the funding of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) which is probing the assassination of late PM Rafik Hariri and his companions.

On the electoral law, Jumblatt said “if the other party wins, there will be no state of law, no army, and no security forces to preserve security, no independent judiciary, independent president or independent army".

Jumblatt said that the brutality of the Syrian regime exceeded all expectations and overshadowed the brutality of the barbaric Mongol King Holako. Jumblatt voiced his surprise over the international conspiracy against the Syrian people and the Syrian entity, wondering if there are negotiations to preserve Israel’s security and draw new maps for the region.
