Minister Chouhayeb exerts efforts to reopen roads blocked by PSP supporters in protest against Bassil’s visit

After PSP supporters blocked roads in Aley to protest against the visit of Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil to the district, Minister Akram Chouhayeb toured between the towns to try and reopen the roads.

In this context, Chouhayeb told LBCI that “Bassil is welcome but without giving the visit a sharp and violent aspect on the political level, mainly because such visits have reopened the war memories that have been forgotten by the people.”

“Visits are a democratic right and everyone has the right to political practice but within the map of local agreement and within the framework of the reconciliation sponsored by late Patriarch Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir.”
