Mikati: Judicial warrants to be issued against those who breach security

PM Najib Mikati said on Thursday that judicial warrants will be issued against anyone who breaches security, stressing that the airport road will no longer be blocked.              

Following the dialogue session held in Beiteddine, Mikati said that there is no need to declare a state of emergency, noting that the situation is difficult until an agreement is reached regarding an “exceptional cabinet”. “The current cabinet should not be held responsible for the events taking place on the ground, because they are a result of old accumulated issues”, he added.          

Mikati noted that the team formed by the dialogue committee to follow up the case of the Lebanese hostages in Syria will make a tour in an attempt to release them and reassure foreign countries on their nationals, and to reassure Lebanese nationals abroad.              

Miktai stressed that the army is performing his duties and is using wisdom and force at the same time, calling on the media to assume its responsibility.            

Mikati said that he met with Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Turkish FM Ahmet Davutoglu in Saudi Arabia, pointing that they confirmed that they are keen on the Lebanese-Turkish relations.                

“Our country is in a storm, we must be united to save it”, he concluded.
