Druze spiritual leader Sheikh al-Aql Naim Hassan called on President Michel Aoun to prevent anything from contradicting the coexistence principle and to turn his era into a productive and secure era for all the Lebanese under the ceiling of those principles.
Speaking during the inauguration of the Islamic-Christian spiritual summit at the Druze community house, the sheikh stressed the need to prevent anything from affecting the foundations that form the Lebanese entity based on freedoms, plurality, democracy, national balances and partnership.
“We are all with you (referring to the president) to help Lebanon rise up on the economic and financial levels, as well as in terms of living conditions,” he added, hoping that the current crises will be resolved soon so that the institutions can resume their work.
For his part, Maronite Patriarch Beshara Boutros Rai noted that they cannot stand idly by and watch the Lebanese people be miserable and shattered without supporting them.
In turn, Mufti of the Lebanese Republic Sheikh Abdel Latif Darian emphasized the need to support the Taef Accord and the Constitutions, pointing out that Prime Minister Saad Hariri, along with President Michel Aoun and Speaker Nabih Berri are entrusted with protecting the national principles.
