MP Ephrem to LBCI: Main goal of next Budget is to bring deficit to zero

Strong Lebanon bloc MP Naamat Ephrem said on Thursday that the main goal of the next state’s Budget is to bring the deficit to zero, adding that high interests are “a proof that the Lebanese economy is starting to get exhausted of the public sector’s economy.”

Ephrem’s comments were made during an interview with LBCI’s Nharkom Said TV show whereby he noted that the 2020 Budget must be completed as soon as possible in order not to fall into the same delays faced in 2019’s Budget.”

On another note, Ephrem tackled the crisis that the Lebanese media outlets is facing, adding that it is part of “the global devastating and creative development in history.”

He also discussed the presence of Christians in Lebanon, stressing that the Christians did not build a Christian state since 1920 but a civil one.

“What both Christians and Muslims are facing in the Middle East region is defined in the collapse of all state’s systems that drives them to emigrate and this is very dangerous,” he concluded by saying.
