Berdawni River pollution worsens
The Berdawni River in Zahle turned into a landfill and a course for sewage of neighboring towns. In this context, the “Lebanese Association for Environment and Health” filed a complaint, a month earlier, with the public prosecution against “unknown” for the pollution and the bad smells emanating from the river. A letter was also submitted a month ago to the governor of the Bekaa, demanding an examination for the water. But in the absence of the governor Antoine Sleiman from the region, these moves remain “ink on paper”.

The “Lebanese Association for Environment and Health” threatened that it will take escalatory measures permitted by the law, to preserve the environment, the health and the future of the region’s residents, calling on all officials to assume their responsibilities in dealing with this case.
