Berri: There are attempts to drop name of Samir Khatib
Visitors of Speaker Nabih Berri quoted him as saying that he was surprised of a plan to drop names of any potential Sunnite candidates.

The same visitors also quoted his as stressing that there are attempts to drop the name of Samir Khatib, after dropping the names of Mohammad Safadi, Bahij Tabara, Nawaf Salam and heads of Committee on Banking Supervision.

He also voiced the Parliament’s readiness for the biding consultations when the date is set, rejecting any form of capital control.

Berri also said he is surprised how "a head of a government in a caretaker capacity does not call to an emergency meeting or does not form a crisis cell to address the crisis and protect the interests of the people."

On another note, Berri said that he requested from the AMAL Movement to re-erect the tents that were burnt by some of Tyre’s residents.
