Three siblings drown off Tyre coast

A tragedy struck a Syrian family on Tuesday when three of their children drowned off Itanyeh coast near Tyre while the 4th seven year old brother miraculously survived.

In details, the four children (two brothers and two sisters) were clinching to a large plastic gallon which was floating on the surface of the sea when a whirlpool swallowed three of the siblings while the youngest seven year old boy managed to survive in a miraculous way.

The boy shouted for his parents who were on the beach as a 17 year old man tried to rescue the siblings but suffered injuries when he collided with the rocks.

The young man received immediate medical treatment from the Red Cross.

Minutes later, maritime civil defense units rushed to the scene of the accident and managed to retrieve Salwa Zaytouni (12 years) and her 13 year old sister Shayelah.
