The Independent Movement chief MP Michel Moawad met on Saturday with PM-designate Hassan Diab within the framework of the non-binding parliamentary consultations to form a cabinet.
Following the meeting, he declared that he asked Diab to form his cabinet based on three principles: to include non-partisan experts to be able to implement the required reforms, to resolve the issue that arose during the designation process in terms of absence of Sunni cover and to reconcile Lebanon with both Arab and international communities.
Moawad pointed out that “the collapse, if it happens, will affect every citizen, every town and every region, as well as Lebanon’s identity, entity and institutions,” stressing the need for the new cabinet to be one of reconciliation and reform.
