The year 2019 could be titled as “the year of the dollar crisis.” A crisis represented by a shortage in liquidity in the foreign currency, coupled with tough measures taken by banks restricting monetary withdrawals, transfers and facilitations.
The year 2019 also witnessed the closure of Jamal Trust Bank after the US imposed sanctions on it.
Also in 2019, Lebanon witnessed several reductions in credit ranking.
