Iran urges release of abducted Iranian pilgrims in Syria
Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehman-Parast said that the 48 Iranian pilgrims kidnapped in Syria in August must be released soon, noting that the abductors and their supporters are considered solely responsible for the health of the Iranian nationals.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran calls on all international institutions to deploy strong efforts to secure the immediate release of all the abducted Iranian nationals," Mehman-Parast said on Saturday.

The spokesman pointed "that using defenseless pilgrims as a human shield is against the principles of human rights", urging international organizations to prevent repetition of such measures which are against the human norms and criteria.
