Conference calling for a national committee for the victims of enforced disappearance

The committee formed by relatives of victims of enforced disappearance, SOLIDE association and a number of organizations held on Thursday a press conference under the title “For an Independent national committee for the victims of enforced disappearance”, outside the sit-in tent near the ESCWA building.

In this context, the victims’ relatives stressed the necessity of forming a committee in charge of dealing with enforced disappearance cases, noting that it will be an important step in this case.

The attendees confirmed that this issue is far from being related to politics, adding that the project of forming an independent national committee was not proposed by a specific minister; however, it has been presented since 2008.
