Mikati leaves Baabda Palace without making a statement

Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati held a meeting on Monday with President Michel Sleiman at the Baabda Palace whereby they discussed the tense security situation overshadowing various Lebanese regions. Following the meeting, Mikati left Baabda without making a statement.

The meeting came within the framework of the discussions launched by Sleiman after Mikati declared that he "was not holding on to power."

Sleiman had earlier met with Social Affairs Minister Wael Abou Faour and discussed the current crisis and “the need to avoid slipping into further tension."
