Abboud denies rumors on “Habtoor Metropolitan” shut down

Tourism Minister Fady Abboud denied the rumors that emerged about the shutdown of “Habtoor - Metropolitan” hotel, stressing that it is still working and the news about dismissing 1500 workers are not right, when the number of workers at the hotel does not exceed 400.             

During a joint press conference with the General Director of Habtoor – Metropolitan hotels Jean-Pierre Minardi, Abboud noted that this rumor sparked confusion in Lebanon, pointing that “it is regrettable that the interests of such a prestigious institutions as Metropolitan hotel are being affected by political conflicts.”             

For his part, Minardi thanked the Minister for supporting the hotel, adding that “Metropolitan and Habtoor are still working in Lebanon and are always at the service of customers.”
