Geagea responds to Nasrallah, recounts ‘terror’ acts affiliated with Hezbollah
Geagea said on Wednesday that in light of the economic situation, officials should be looking into improving living conditions and not bickering over public opinion favorability.

In a press conference held to respond to the latest speech of Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Geagea said, addressing Nasrallah: “Since the end of the Lebanese civil war, have there been any violations by the Lebanese Forces? Let’s compare the LF and Hezbollah.”

Geagea recounted the “terror” acts affiliated with Hezbollah during the Lebanese civil war. He mentioned the blast which rocked the U.S. Embassy in Lebanon on April 18, 1983, the explosion of the Marines HQ which killed 200 people on April 2, 1985, the assassination of Georges Chamoun… etc.

The LF Chief mentioned that in 2012, a document was found linking Hezbollah to the assassination of late MP Gebran Toueni.

Citing George Hawi, Geagea said, referring to Hezbollah, “they claim to be in line with Khomeini, however we remain more true to that line than they are.”

“If you want to recall civil war events recall them in their entirety and not partially,” he said addressing Nasrallah.

Geagea said that the martyrs of Hezbollah till the year 2000 would not approve of the party's performance today, adding “their martyrdom should not be exploited.”

On another note, Geagea said the Lebanese Forces cannot be accused of being Israeli agents, adding "buying weapons is one thing, espionage is another."

Geagea debunked Hezbollah's claims on the achievements of the Ayoub spy drone launched into Israeli airspace. He said, addressing Nasrallah: "If the drone did take such important photos of Israel, then hand them over to the LAF; the Lebanese people will pay the price of this drone."

Geagea pointed out that Iranian satellites can take better photos of Israel than the Ayoub spy drone.

In response to Nasrallah's accusations, Geagea asked "do you really believe that Israel would launch war against Lebanon at March 14's order?

On escalating tension between Sunnis and Shiite, Geagea said that "those responsible for Sunni-Shiite tensions are those who have been standing with the Syrian regime since 2005, those who launched a military campaign against Beirut on May 7th, those who toppled the government of Saad Hariri and Siniora" he said, accusing Nasrallah of driving Sunnis and Shiites against Christians by "demonizing" all those who disagree with his stances.

Addressing Nasrallah he said, "you admittedly said that 'we' were forced into a national unity government in 2008."

On the reaction to the assassination of Brigadier General Wissam Hassan, he asked Nasrallah "do you expect us to remain silent on such an assassination?"

On the electoral law, Geagea said that they will agree on a law that offers the best representation for all Lebanese factions, stressing that "if Nasrallah believes that March 8 camp can win elections through any law, then he should agree to any proposal."
