Meeting for heads of March 14 committees at Harb’s residence

MP Boutros Harb said on Friday that March 14's boycott is a democratic right exercised by the opposition in an attempt to topple the cabinet and put an end to its "wrongful" practices, stressing that "the negative repercussions of the boycott do not match the damages caused by the government."

Following the meeting held at his residence, Harb said that they were surprised of Speaker Nabih Berri's move when he asked the parliamentary committees' rapporteurs to call for holding meetings surpassing the committee's presidents, stressing that such a step is illegal.

He added that March 14's absence in the meetings held by joint committees to discuss the electoral law is a dangerous precedent.

A number of March 14 MPs were present at the meeting, including Robert Ghanem, Nabil de Freij, Samer Saadeh, Atef Majdalani, Shant Janjanian, Ammar Houry, Marwan Hamadeh, Samir al-Jeser, Ahmad Fatfat, Fadi al-Haber and Riad Rahal.
