Fatfat to LBCI: Lebanon struggles for independence from Iranian tutelage and extra state arms

MP Ahmad Fatfat stressed that "they will not boycott Parliament, despite all the question marks surrounding Speaker Nabih Berri’s behavior," noting that the security situation of a number of MPs made it necessary after the assassination of Brig. Gen. Wissam al-Hassan.

In a statement to Nharkom Said, Fatfat said that it would be better to hold the meetings of the committee discussing the new electoral law in Parliament, pointing however that, due to the security situation, the deputy Parliament Speaker Farid Makari suggested that the meetings should be held at another location.

On the other hand, Fatfat said that “we are in the phase of a third independence, where we struggle against the arms and the Iranian tutelage over Lebanon.”
