Kanaan: 70% of the posts in the Lebanese administration should not remain vacant

MP Ibrahim Kanaan stressed on Thursday that the Finance and Budget Commission allocated its session to discuss the agenda which includes 5 projects and one draft law.

Kanaan pointed that, due to the absence of the Banque Du Liban representative, they decided to postpone the approval of the project concerning cash smuggling, adding that a session will be scheduled soon to continue discussing pending projects.

On the administrative appointments issue, Kanaan said that he does not mind if the 2-year deadline were exceeded, especially that 69 people passed the exams, noting that "instead of ignoring these 69 people, we can present a draft law similar to the one presented by MP Ghazy Zeayter."

In this context, Kanaan stressed that the administration should not allow further delays in this matter, and should not keep more than 70 to 80% of the posts vacant within the Lebanese administration.
