Al-Sayyed: March 8 not ready to meet the fantasies of March 14

Major General Jamil al-Sayyed said on Friday that the open letter addressed by Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea to President Michel Sleiman included numerous inaccuracies, such as accusing the other party [March 8 and allies] of being responsible for the assassination of several political figures including Brig. Gen. Wissam al-Hassan, adding that the March 14 forces are well aware that there have not yet been any judgments issued in these cases by any court.          

In a statement, al-Sayyed stressed that everyone knows that the March 8 forces and allies are keen on attending the dialogue called for by the President Michel Sleiman, but on the other hand they are not ready to meet March 14’s fantasies by “trading the dialogue for the cabinet.” He called on these forces to stop drawing foreign powers and gambling with the fate of Lebanon, as they did in the near past.           

Commenting on Geagea’s letter, al-Sayyed said that it is against the principles of dialogue and included an incitement and an explicit call to create sedition, mainly one between the Sunni's and the Shiite's.
