Higher Islamic Council at the core of Grand Serail meeting Monday

Former PM Omar Karami received a phone call from Prime Minister Najib Mikati Saturday and they agreed to hold a meeting for all the former Prime Ministers at the Grand Serail next Monday to draw a comprehensive reform plan for religious affairs and find solutions to the elections of the Higher Islamic Council.

Karami had received a delegation from the committee tasked with following up on the issue of the Higher Islamic Council whereby he stressed the necessity to reach a road map and steer clear of chaos, rumors and practices which harmed the community. Karami hoped that prime ministers will be able to reach a comprehensive plan for religious affairs.
