The case of detained French journalist in Iraq will be settled within two days-sources

An Iraqi source stressed on Tuesday that the case of the French journalist Nadir Dendoune, who is still detained in Iraq despite the fact that his release was issued on February 14, will be settled within two days.

According to the same source, the judiciary is expected to settle his case upon the completion of the bail procedures taken by the French Embassy, adding that the judiciary gave him back his documents, allowing him to travel.

Reports said that authorities detained Mr Dendoune - who was in Baghdad to report on the upcoming 10th anniversary of the US-led invasion of Iraq - for taking unauthorized pictures on January 23.

He was caught photographing a restricted location, the Iraqi authorities said, but his family has told Agence France-Presse he was taking pictures of a water filtration system.
