Lebanese national elected deputy chairman of the International Wine Organization

The director-general of agriculture, agricultural engineer Louis Lahoud was elected on Thursday as deputy chairman of the Economic analysis experts committee of the International Organization for Vine and Wine (OIV), making him the first Lebanese national to fill such a position.             

In this context, Lahoud participated in the ministerial meetings of the OIV held in Paris, where he exposed the situation of the wine sector in Lebanon and the development it has witnessed during the past years, concerning the respect of the specifications and standards adopted worldwide and the exportation of a large quantity of Lebanese wine to foreign markets.             

Lahoud also met with the OIV Director General Federico Castellucci and tackled a number of topics, including the upcoming 'Lebanese Wine Day' which will be held in France on May 14, 2013.
