March 8 Christians, Hezbollah delegation meet in Rabieh

Christians of the March8 alliance along with a delegation from Hezbollah met on Monday at the residence of the Change and Reform Bloc Leader MP Michel Aoun in Rabieh.

The participants included caretaker Minister of Energy Gebran Bassil, a delegation from the Marada Movement headed by MP Sleiman Frangieh, former Minister Youssef Saadeh, MP Hagob Bakradonian representing the Tachnag party, as well as the political adviser to Hezbollah Secretary General, Hussein Khalil.

The meeting lasted two hours, after which MP Hagob Bakradonian issued a statement whereby he stressed that consultations are ongoing.

In this context, sources told LBCI that the conferees rejected a governmental void and the extension of the Parliament’s mandate, noting that the meeting was held in order to urge officials to hold a parliamentary session to discuss an electoral law.

The sources added that the conferees also rejected the reappointment of Najib Mikati to form another cabinet.
