Contagious disease spreads among Syrian refugees in Donniyeh

The mayor of Assoun town, Donniyeh, Motassem Abdul Qader called on the concerned authorities to quickly contain the spread of the scabies infection among the Syrian refugees residing in the town, a fact which raised a state of panic between the Lebanese residents for fear of getting infected by this contagious disease.

Abdul Qader said that he has informed the concerned authorities, in reference to Ministries of Health and Social Affairs, of the situation 10 days ago, but no precautionary measures have been taken since, revealing that the infection was detected in refugees of all ages.

In this context, the mayor urged the authorities to help his town bear the burden of at least 350 Syrian families.
