Rifi: Ready to present sacrifices to reach free, sovereign and independent state

Former ISF Chief Maj. Gen. Ashraf Rifi expressed on Tuesday gratitude to the residents of Tripoli, the North and all the Lebanese regions for their support to his firm position concerning the need to preserve Tripoli’s dignity.

In this context, Rifi called on all political parties and his supporters who raised banners expressing their support to understand his decision and remove them from public places, stressing that his message will always remain the same.

“We are ready to present sacrifices in order to reach a free, sovereign and independent state and to preserve the people’s dignity and respect,” Rifi added.

The northern city of Tripoli has been witnessing an unstable security situation, where clashes continue between Jabal Mohsen and Bab al-Tebbaneh, leaving several dead and injured. The various security apparatuses have been implementing security plans in a bid to control the situation.
