Higher Defense Council: To extend general mobilization until the 5th of July
The Higher Defense Council convened on Thursday at Baabda Palace, in a session chaired by President Michel Aoun, and decided to submit a recommendation, to the Council of Ministers, which includes the extension of public mobilization from 8/6/2020 until 5/7/2020.

The Defense Council also decided to maintain economic activities which were allowed to gradually re-function according to time stages referred to in Article 2 of Decree No. 6296/2020 and within specific conditions based on the criteria of individual mixing intensity, amount of mixing, possibility of adjustment, the level of priority and potential risks.

The Security meeting was attended by Prime Minister, Dr. Hassan Diab, Deputy Prime Minister and National Defense Minister, Zeina Akar, and minister of: Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Nassif Hitti, Finance, Ghazi Wazny, Interior and Municipalities, Mohammed Fahmy, Economy and Trade, Raoul Nehme, Public Health, Hamad Hassan, Public Works and Transport, Michel Najjar and Justice, Mary-Claude Najm.

The meeting was also attended by: Army Commander, General Joseph Aoun, Director-general of General Security, Major General Abbas Ibrahim, Director General of Internal Security Forces, Major General Imad Othman, Director General of the Supreme Defense Council, Major General Mahmoud Al-Asmar, Cassation Attorney General, Judge Ghassan Ouweidat, Government Commissioner to the Military Court, Judge Peter Germanos, Army Intelligence Director, Brigadier General, Antoine Mansour, Director of Information at the General Directorate of General Security, Brigadier General Manh Sawaya, Head of ISF Information Branch, Brigadier Khaled Hammoud, Deputy Director-General of State Security, Brigadier Samir Sannan, General-Director of the Lebanese Presidency, Dr. Antoine Choucair, and the President’s Security and Military adviser, retired Brigadier General Paul Matar.
