Rizkallah to LBCI: Delta variant now accounts for 100% of Coronavirus infections in Lebanon
The statistics coordinator of the Coronavirus follow-up committee Nabil Rizkallah said on Friday that the Delta variant accounts now for 100% of Coronavirus cases in Lebanon.
 
Rizkallah’s comments were made during an interview with LBCI’s Nharkom Said TV whereby he noted that the increase of infections lately “is due to people's recklessness in implementing the preventive measures, and the rapid spread of the Delta mutant." 
 
Answering a question about a possible lockdown, he stressed that measures will be implemented on the ground since the country cannot bear another shutdown.
 
Rizakllah concluded by saying that the vaccine reduces the possibility of contracting the virus and avoids those who received it the risk of death and hospitalization.
