Eid Azar to LBCI: Side effects of Covid-19 vaccine can not be harmful
Head of Lebanese National Vaccine Executive Committee Eid Azar said on Thursday that the side effects of the Covid-19 vaccine can not be harmful.

Azar’s comments were made during an interview with LBCI’s Nharkom Said TV show whereby he noted that “the vaccination rate for the elderly is good,” emphasizing that the lower the age, the lower the immunization rate.

He also pointed out that the age group from 12 to 18 years was not vaccinated at a high rate, stressing that “the vaccination rate in this group has reached 45 percent.”

While Azar emphasized the importance of the vaccine, he also stated that it is not a panacea for the Coronavirus.

He considered that there must be a vision for the vaccination plan, adding that “focus on giving the third dose for the elderly is more important than starting to vaccinate the young.”

Azar touched on the “Pfizer third shot marathon” for those over 50 years old that will be held next Saturday, explaining that the marathon is for those who received the second dose of the vaccine more than 5 months ago.
