A spreader of epidemic diseases is now subject to fine or imprisonment in Lebanon
A draft law was approved on Tuesday from outside the parliament’s agenda stipulating an increase in the fine given for those who violate preventive decisions or instructions to limit the spread of pandemics, such as not taking the vaccine if they were the ones who spread the virus.

The fine, which was previously set at 50 000 LBP, has been increased to 250 000 LBP, with the penalty doubled in the event of recurrence.

A person who contributes to the spread of an epidemic disease shall also be liable to 6 months in prison.

Noting that this law does not oblige vaccination, but rather exposes the spreader of the epidemic to the said fine.
