Diab meets Claudine Aoun Roukoz to discuss women affairs and rights
Prime Minister Hassan Diab met on Wednesday with Head of the National Committee for Women’s Affairs Claudine Aoun Roukoz.

Following the meeting, Roukoz said that she congratulated the PM and praised the appointing of six women as ministers in the new government.

She said: "For the first time, the women's 30%quota is applied without a law."

Roukoz briefed the PM on all the files that the National Committee is currently managing. She also presented him with a copy of the national plan of action to implement Resolution 1325 that was voted upon by the Cabinet last September, and which will be put into action by the new government.

"We discussed all the pending matters and laws, be it in the cabinet or in the parliament, and I suggested that the ministerial statement should include a paragraph on women and their rights," she said.
