A unit of the judicial police in Zahle arrested a man identified as 23-year-old A. H. for selling his one-year-old daughter for LBP 1.8 million. During interrogations he confessed to putting his two daughters (two years old and one year old) for sale and selling the younger one.
The arrest came after the man’s wife reported him to the police station in Zahle.
Following investigations, the judicial police managed to track down and arrest the mediator in al-Kark region, who was identified as 85-year-old S. A.
The couple who bought the child was also arrested and identified as 49-year-old Lebanese man (A. R.) and 53-year-old Lebanese woman (A. Gh.).
The child was returned to her mother, while interrogations are underway with all involved in the crime under the supervision of the concerned judiciary.
