Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorist Financing Marshall Billingslea said that the United States will not halt the assistance provided to Lebanon after a cabinet was formed with Hezbollah as a part of it.
The officials who met with Billingslea said that he refused to comment in advance on the issue of Hezbollah and the ministries he could be handed in the cabinet, and denied that he informed the Lebanese of warnings in this regard.
The officials added that Billingslea informed them that the US will monitor Hezbollah’s performance in case the party was handed the Health Ministry.
