Founded by the Kataeb party, the “Independence Museum” will be inaugurated Saturday to mark 44th anniversary of the start of the 15-year Civil War, to commemorate martyrs who sacrificed for the sake of the nation.
On Friday, Maronite Patriarch Beshara Boutros Rai blessed the “Independence Museum” in the presence of former President Amin Gemayel and Kataeb party chief Samy Gemayel, as well as a number of officials and dignitaries.
The patriarch cut the ribbon with former President Amin Gemayel to the “Martyr’s Hall” where all the names of the martyrs are written on the walls, before writing a message in the guest book.
Both Gemayel and Rai delivered speeches during the event.
